Description
An early example of a hybrid attack ship as utilized on board Outland Industries combat vessels circa the Third Great Galactic Expansion (TGGE) phase of galactic history. The vessel was fan-shaped with a single pilot cockpit which faced forward. It was a short range craft, good for no more than 19,900 kilometers before requiring refueling and refurbishment, and the pilot was required to pilot it in a reclined position. The design was based on a minimalist aspect hull so that enemies approaching from behind or the front could hardly see the ship, and this assisted with giving it some degree of protection from weapons locks. It had a defensive field as standard, and the weapons were tucked away until required.

The image shown on the immediate left is of the craft with its weaponry locked down. The second time shows it preparing to deploy, while the third and last image shows the weapons mounts fully deployed. The ship was capable of use in space, had atmospheric capabilities and could land and take off again from a planetary surface, station or support ship. Outland fielded these ships in most of their early engagements, with the NNI-58 Grendel eventually replacing the DD-50 in later conflicts.
