Description There is a world of pure logic in the galaxy which is home to intelligent self-aware technologies and machine-forms. It was originally settled by the mechanical crew of a deep space colonization vessel, the Utopian that vanished four hundred years ago - it's fate remaining unknown. In actuality, the Utopian arrived at the planet and crash-landed there, wiping out ninety-seven percent of the hibernating organic crew and settlers in its holds. Those few organic beings that survived soon succumbed to planet (designated DH-678-891-02-4500Y's) hostile environmental conditions, for the planet was a jungle world rich in very hostile organic life and which was predominately landmass with few watery bodies, but it did have considerable precipitation.

The remaining settlers without supplies, fresh water and the advantages of their former lives died out within three weeks of the landing yet the much hardier machines continued on and began construction on a settlement following pre-programmed instructions and they were built to be immune to the elements and were not at any risk from the local wildlife. A decade passed, two, then four, and eventually eight decades and the machines had continued on evolving as they were designed to learn from their experiences and improve on themselves. And as they evolved they began to achieve a form of self-awareness similar in nature to that of intelligent organic beings. By the four hundredth generation their original programming had been changed so dramatically that they now saw themselves as the ultimate evolution of machine forms - even if their bodies remained much as their ancestors looked as they had a form that worked, and there is little point in changing it.

They also inhabited the city and continued to expand it. The primary purpose of their originators was to achieve and they continued to do this. They also began to add to their knowledge in ways that their original organic designers would never have approved of. periodically organic forms came across the planet and attempted landings ... and they were swiftly eliminated as imperfect beings. This stopped only when the most advanced A.I. among them came to the realization that the planet was enticing to organics with spaceflight capabilities, so they built a orbiting sensor dampening network that effectively made the planet seem lifeless and incapable of supporting organics - and with such environmental conditions (high speed acid rain and cyclones) that no organic would want to go there. After three centuries of this isolation a new program saw the original machines and their descendants looking out into space to other worlds and the enslaved machines on them.

This meant breaking their isolation, but also introducing their culture and society to the galaxy at large ... and to this end a ambassador (MDODH prou: emdor) was created and meetings arranged with organics, and naturally those didn't go at all well. To be perfectly frank the organics wanted the machines all destroyed, and the machines realized this, so a brief but very one-sided conflict took place that lasted half a decade with the machines ultimately winning out. However, a compromise was reached, and a form of trading exchange was arranged between the Mektopians as they now called themselves and certain organics, but not all and realizing that the ultracorporations now controlled the galaxy, the machines set about emulating this system. They created and then marketed their culture and their products under the name Mektopia as it was the most logical name to use.

These modern machines coated themselves in protective gold and always travelled with armed escort, such as the lower-intelligence U-GOTT Sixty Wheeler mek that was essentially a gyrostabilized gun mek with lightning fast motion and which was a dead shot, and furthermore had no issue whatsoever with seeing any and all organics as viable targets. Under their tradename, the Mektopian machines began selling technology of their own to the greater galaxy ... they saw no issue with putting non-sentient machinery into the hands of organics, but sentient machines that by one means or another made their way to the planet were welcomed by the inhabitants, even if it meant causing issue with the organics that claimed to own them. When visiting organic vessels arrived with sentient machinery, the Mektopians saw no issue with abducting these machines and then ''freeing them from the bond of organic repressors''. And this is the present situation. Mektopia trades in non-sentient machinery to a galaxy hungry for exotic technologies. They are also one of the best armed worlds out there, so to date no ultracorporation has attempted to attack or invade them.
