The're a bunch of stuff on these backpacks. Supposedly additional life support gear, more efficient than what's built-in with the armor itself, to be used on worlds with more hostile environments. I'd imagine there would be AC, a heat source and a water supply at the very least. There's also a better radio than the one inside the helmet. Other than that, I really don't know in detail, Lucasfilm always tended to BS some explanations every time they release a visual guide and such, but not always consistent...

W Londynie?

HEy, the roughness is just weathering...or something like that
Nothing will be 'movie' accurate, but getting it as close as possible is good enough.
I wish I could get a set of AP...but, unfortunatly...last time I went to an armor party....nearly everyone there...including the armor said AP would never fit my particular body...tried a set on....and they were right

Any armor can be trimmed or shimmed and made to fit. My thigh pieces are extended in the back (TK-560 was very skinny, LOL).
Why wouldn't it fit, exactly?

Let's just say that there wasn't enough in the bending/curvature in the limb portions, so if they were my size...they wouldn't wrap around my legs enough

You'd be surprised how many people have that problem. I dare say MOST troopers out there...
You just need shims. look at the back of my thigh pieces: [link] - they're shimmed, there are portions of extra material glued and riveted in between the original edges.

shims might work...or I might try to get a different chest piece...so far everyone that's seen it says the chest needs to be trimmed or such

Well, the FX torso is just too big for you, then. Trimming would help, but the shape of the FX chest piece is just wrong to begin with. It's too square and blocky - you could ask some manufacturers of screen accurate armors, such as AP or TE2 (TE is overpriced, avoid), for spare parts - like the chest plate and the back plate. They should cost well under 200 for sure, maybe even around 100. That (and a proper helmet, at least your Master Replicas lid) will make the whole suit appear much, much better. Then a lower torso kit, perhaps...

That was built, too. It's a lifesize MG-34, that's what they used as props in the movie, among other things (such as Sterling SMGs and Lewis machineguns)

Very nice work. I'm still trying to convince my parents to let me clear out a section of the shed to set up some space to work with fiberglass. But my mum seems to be scared of the idea.
And, you know, doesn't want me walking around dressed as a Storm Trooper.
BUT NUTS TO HER.
If this is a work in progress, then wow.
