Description Star Trek: Chimera - Season Six

2413.
The New Federation, consisting of The Romulan/Vulcan Star Empire, Andor, Tellar and many more including the majority of the original Federation worlds have become the main political power of the Alpha and Beta-Quadrants. With the creation of Slipstream Gates the alliance has also extended its reach into the Delta and Gamma-Quadrants of the Milky Way. The New Federation consisting of almost a thousand planets has achieved huge advances in technological breakthroughs as well as furthering their collective knowledge and overcome war, illness and poverty.
Whilst their rivals may be many, an era of peace has swept through the Alpha and Beta-Quadrants and have thrived in their infinite diversity.

Many scholars and academics call this new era, ‘The Era of Peace...’

The Klingons however have chosen a different path. Far from the New Federation borders, the Klingon Empire, lead by the now, self proclaimed, ‘Duras The Unforgettable,’ has seized countless worlds, stretching from Qo’nos to the distant Zeta-Gelis Cluster.

Duras is preparing for something...he wants what the New Federation has however, he lacks the ability to unify the worlds he rules over. In fighting within the expansive Klingon Empire has proven costly to Duras. Yet, he still remains. Like a dictator of old, Duras clings to power, his vision: to rule the Alpha and Beta-Quadrants...

After almost two years of rapid expansion, the decimation of hundreds of worlds and the overthrowing of many more governments, Duras calls for an unprecedented meeting of his High Council -a group so vapid and without any clear thought or conscience of their own, made up of yes men and appeasers calls an end to his tyrannical rein.
Leaving, as the Vulcans call it, ‘The Empire of Death and Dust,’ in complete disarray, Duras unexpectedly and suddenly steps down from his position as Emperor sending shockwaves throughout The Empire.

No Klingon has ever stood down from this position. It would be considered dishonourable and a cowardly act. Duras however did not ‘stick around’ to find out what the consequences of his actions would be.
After stepping down from his prestigious role as head of the Klingon Empire, Duras vanishes without a trace. Literally just vanishing into thin air. The members of the High Council watched in horror as he disappeared right in front of their eyes. Many say that it was like watching a magician vanish...only this time, there were no smoke and mirrors to hide the coward’s exit from the stage...

Word of the power vacuum within the Klingon Empire reaches The New Federation quickly, Starfleet places it’s fleet on high alert.
Within a matter of months, intelligence from within the Empire suggests in fighting within the Klingon Houses, a fundamental collapse of the Government and the worlds once seized by Klingon forces begin to revolt against their former oppressors regime.

Depending on which Klingon Commander encounters them, Starfleet ships, sent into the Empire to render aid to those in need are either fired upon or left to assist those who need their assistance.
It becomes clear to the Starfleet Admiralty and The New Federation Council that now more than ever, peace between and within the Klingon Empire is needed.

With all the upheaval of the current galactic political situation, Starbase Chimera and the Rigel System has never been so important.
Not only is the Rigel-Sector a strategically important sector for the New Federation, the sector is home to trillions. Protecting this region of space and the Rigel-System at the heart of the sector was always Admiral Bateson’s main role. Whilst his mission initially was to ensure the reintegration of the Rigellian Worlds into the then Federation following the Iconian Invasion, Bateson and his crew are once again thrust onto the centre stage.
The coordination of Starfleet ships, humanitarian efforts and limited scientific and strategic research projects have all fallen onto the shoulders of Morgan Bateson...

You’re using the Shadows from Babylon Five?

So basically, Toral, son of Duras has managed to use a secret New Federation Temporal Research base to alter time in an attempt to destroy the New Federation.
However, his meddling with the timeline has gone awry and has caused several temporal duplicates of himself (from failed previous attempts.) One of which, who has been altered to look human has seen the error of his ways and actually wants to stop the original Toral and has sided with Bateson and the New Federation to put an end to his meddling. The original Duras calls his human looking counterpart his shadow.

Also, the episode titles for all of season six are actually titles of one of my favourite movie franchises, the Batman Dark Night trilogy

It seems like the Klingons will declare war on the Federation or there’s a civil war in action. Anyways, I like it. Is that Bozeman with that other Polaris class?

monkeysuncle30 -Jack the storyline’s in the description!
Yes, that’s the Bozeman and the Polaris-Refit is the USS Havoc, Bateson’s former first officer, Captain Christopher Rivers’ new starship.
