you're welcome. it also reminds me of alice in wonderland. with the protagonist as a male character instead. also, with the boy sitting in such an old looking room, it makes me think that, no matter how modern society has become, it is still at the feet of a natural and ancient world.

I agree and you can see a lot of such examples throughout London

thanks, and really? i shall go one day. when i have the money of course. right now i'm just 18 looking for a job for the first time. i never had to get one before, but now i do. sorry for the ramble. have a good day/night (but doesn't a day include the night? sorry another ramble, it's just our language is way too damn confusing, i don't see how foreigners pick up our jargon)

A Cathedral... that explains the size of the door
I once asked someone (very involved with religion) why all that magnificence was needed... if it wouldn't be better to give money to those who really need it than spending it in that much luxury and adornments...
I was answered that God's magnificence has to be shown to the world...and that his glory has to be obvious.
I thought it was a pretty dull answer, but well...not in a mood to argue

And I really like that door's look. It impresses specially because by having someone sitting there, one can find out its actual size (anyway, I could figure it was BIG, but still better when comparison is available).

Not one, many John's could walk through it arm in arm and mounted over each other !

Once more, you at your best. Love all in it. Perfect in every sense.

I certainly can`t offer an explanation either M so I`ll take the one you had alongside you,but it`s a worthwhile question for sure

And I agree, the guy was vital to the overall feel of the shot
Thank you M!

Geez! talk about something being larger than life! I thought this was one of those really low angle shots--you know, from the floor, in order to skew the perspective, but then I saw the person sitting there! What a great shot, brother!

Love the contrasts and tone in this shot Nice detail in it (as there always is with your work )

That's IT though--I'm just going to have to move to London. At least there they make doors big enough for me to go through

Most excellent work, my friend!

Is this an optical illusion, or is that door really that huge?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

JonnyGoodboy In reply to AdamsWife [2009-05-22 22:21:40 +0000 UTC]

It`s probably even bigger Eve as my wide angle is actually pushing it away and making it appear further away than it actually was
So yes, there`s some illusion but nothing done post production or anything

AdamsWife In reply to JonnyGoodboy [2009-05-23 00:26:48 +0000 UTC]

So if the person was nearer to the door, would both look more normal in size in relation to each other.
