Description
A descendant of the much more benign (and now extinct) George Herbert Walker Bush, this ambulatory plant is considered to be one of the most destructive to its environment ever discovered on the planet Enar
This bush exudes a toxin from its leaves which makes any herbivore that ingests it go berserk with rage and attack other animals - even predators; starting waves of terror in the forest. It fruits are so toxic that animals eating them drop dead at once to serve as mulch. If allowed to rot, the seeds inside the fruit spontaneously combust - often starting wildfires that will clear away acres of forest and destroy all forms of life except for itself (every part of a walker bush is fireproof).
A walker bush is, of course, ambulatory (hence its name); moving slowly in whatever direction it senses fertile soil to plant itself in. It cannot walk fast or far compared to most animals however; managing perhaps one mile every three hours and then only when the sun is high and shining strongly upon it. This is contrary to other dangerous ambulatory plants such as blood arbors, which move only at night. This ability to walk makes the walker bush among the most dangerous of invasive species on Enar; literally invasive in this case.
No one knows the origin of this malign growth, but some scholars believe it is a mutant created by evil Phytolylus magic; possibly by the mage Dikchainey - whom many consider to be one of the most evil men to have ever existed.
At one point in the past, the walker bush was considered a major threat; causing ecological damage in many parts of Enar. In more recent times its influence has been contained, only to be replaced by an even more fearsome botanical threat known as the Donald Forest Trump; an especially noxious and tough form of weed that has spread far and wide in recent times and spreads a virulent form of extreme insanity wherever it goes.
The walker bush is a relative of the Anheiser Bush; the roots of which are often used as an ingredient to make a potent form of beer.
No one knows why the two forms of walker bush are named George, but are thought to be named after the person who first discovered them way back in antiquity.
