This is a painting I started about the same time we started "Path of Enlightenment" In fact I worked on this one, while my girlfriend was working on that. I soon got more involved in it with her so this one was put aside. When we finished I got back to working on this one.
It has changed a lot from what it started out as. I found certain things weren't working so changed them. It's usually what happens when translating an idea from a sketch to canvas. I made purple the main color through out the painting since we love purple. As with all my paintings I have a hard time photographing them myself so there is a little glare from the sun and it isn't quite the exact color, but relatively close. So enough of my rambling, we hope you like looking at it

Hopefully I will be able to offer prints for all of my paintings in the near future. I might even look into DA prints if I feel they will do a good enough job. I don't you get to proof your prints through DA and I want an accurate color reproduction for anyone who buys my work. I have spent a lot of time looking at art on this site and this is my absolute favorite, especially since it is done in acrylics, i assume? I don't know anything about art or painting but I've always had an urge in me to do it. I have always been horrle,but i just started working with acrylics and though i have a VERY long way to go,i love them and I'm able to work with them,getting a little better with each attempt,very enjoyable!!Anyways, I love your painting, BEAUTIFUL

Yes, it was done in Acrylic. I've only worked in acrylic so far, may try something different in the future. My girlfriend has worked in oil. The drying time is too slow for me though. I like the fast drying time of acrylics and they are very versatile too. You should just start painting more and always have fun. It's how you learn. The beauty of paint is that you can always paint over a mistake or something you don't like, so don't be afraid to experiment. Ah, brilliant use of bold and powerful graphic elements. More than anything - even the excellent sculpting of forms - I'm drawn to the simple yet straightforward portrayal of light and its rays... the way they extend from one plane to the next. Instantly opens up a wider dimension.
