Death Valley National Park

A sunrise over the Panamint Range in Death Valley, CA taken from Badwater. Telescope is the highest peak at 11,043 ft right next to Badwater at -282 ft.

This photo went against a lot of my personal tastes with there being no clouds in the sky, however this is substituted to some degree with a sort of "light-diffraction" coming off the mountains. I was torn for a while whether or not to keep this photo so I archived it and recently tried to edit it. I think it turned out pretty well.

One thing you learn with landscape photography throughout the years is to be able to live with the conditions given to you and make the best of them. While in many cases I can go to the beach every single night of my life and eventually end up with a perfect photo, I can't just "go to Death Valley every single night of my life" to get that photo I'm looking for. So, in turn you have to be either very lucky (not much skill required for that), or be able to live with what nature gives you and make the best out of it. And if you can do this then you have learned a lot about being a unique and competent photographer.

While I may not have the photo I was looking for in my mind, I do have a photo nobody else will take; and that is what makes this art.

Edit: Wow thank you very much for my 4th DD, to be honest this was the last photo I ever imagined getting one. I really do appreciate all the support though! Very shocked!
