Description Plastic 25mm-scale "chibi" style gaming miniature painted with acrylics.

This is "Kaelly the Nether Strider," an optional "mini-boss" (opponent) figure for the fantasy-themed "Super Dungeon Explore" cooperative board game (Soda Pop Miniatures), representing some sort of "dark elf assassin" type (or so I am guessing, given the crossbow, white hair, black attire, and blue skin).  I attempted to paint it to look at least somewhat like the card art, though trying to mix paint to get the "light blue, slightly grey" look of the skin tone was rather a challenge (and somehow upon taking a picture, it looks far less GREY than I thought it did when I was working on it).

I was told that Soda Pop Miniatures is going to be releasing some alternative "hero" cards for these "Mini-Boss" figures as well -- so that Kaelly and Vandella could be used as hero types (though of course their powers/abilities would be tweaked to keep them on par with other hero types).

A fleeting thought of mine would be that it'd be amusing to revisit my old "Advanced MonsterQuest" scenario I used to run at conventions (using a tweak on the "Advanced HeroQuest" rules): The premise there was that the players each controlled a different monster.  The local Evil Necromancer was in the middle of performing a Mysterious, Dark Ritual, and was not to be disturbed.  Of course, said dark ritual was causing thunder clouds to form over the castle, giving local soothsayers nasty visions and dreams, and in general giving every band of adventurers in the vicinity all the plot hooks they needed to come investigate.  Our players were therefore given the job of fending off multiple bands of would-be "heroes" from disturbing the Dark Overlord, coming in from various directions.

(The adventurers and their "tactics" were send-ups of various dysfunctional PC archetypes, and the ultimate punchline was that when all was said and done, the "ritual" was for something rather petty and not-that-earth-shattering after all -- such as a spell of cleaning to get the infernal stains out of his wizardly robes after a trip to the Elemental Plane of Stench.)

Aaaaaanyway, I could envision running an "inverted" Super Dungeon Explore game where the players all take the roles of "monster" heroes, and the enemies are some sort of sickeningly-cute opponents that deserve a good thrashing just for being so disgustingly marketable -- say, the "Fuzzy-Wuzzies," who are happy giggly bear-pookas who come in a ridiculous range of colors, have emblems on their tummies, and whose resemblance to any trademarked properties are ENTIRELY coincidental....

Hmm.  Maybe I should see what sort of cutesy toys I can get in a proper scale to work as "miniatures" (to fit on 1"x1" bases) and run with that as a scenario for Necronomicon in October.

Yea, those are a stretch goal for the Kickstarter, and SPM said that nothing for the KS is exclusive, so if for a reason, one cannot kick, they can purchase the goodies later. As for Fuzzie-wuzzies, take a look at the Giri creeps for the KS. Little horned furry creatures swinging leeks.

Thanks!  Fortunately, the sculpt makes that part fairly easy: The wrap/braid is part of the sculpt, and the "chibi" warped head size ensures that it's large enough for me to manage painting a relatively fine line (without it having to be TOO fine a line).
