This wig came in the correct shape and everything, but the shorter bang curled in to my face so I felt I needed to just set it right and style the fringe a bit more.. I also felt it needed a spiked affect on the top too as in most pictures Lightning has a sort of spikey, whispy effect to the sorter side of her hair.. (:Related content

Do you have any tips when it comes to gelling the wig, by the way? I have some Shockwaves 'matt clay' stuff, and I tried it on my own hair first but wasn't sure how to make spikes stick out (I do have short hair, so the layers are like the ones I would be styling on the wig).

Well I always use a product called "Got 2 Be" be it hairspray but DEFINATELY the hair glue. It's the best hair gel/glue that I have used.
The best way that I know of to achieve spikes is to squirt some hair glue between your fingertips, rub them together and then gently stroke it onto the hair that you want to spike. A hairdryer on cool helps to set the spikes no matter what way you want them to stay be it standing right up or just the typical Lightning style spikes. (:

I'll try it on my hair again. The con is on Sunday, and though I need to try the gel on the wig I'm a bit apprehensive because I have nowhere to stand the wig up so it won't stick to things. :/ It may be the morning of... Thanks for the cheerful help.
My costume is coming together well; I have the wig, this week I'm getting used to wearing coloured contacts (they're too blue but better than my brown eyes), loads of stuff is arriving from eBay and the jacket my friend made looks really good! (I'm attempting some sewing on my own now.
