True. I love Shadria but despise Sonelise but not because of beastiality and other same reasons haters give. Itβs because itβs a bland couple. Elise is a bland character. Unlike Shadria, Sonelise feels forced and I can barely see a relationship and chemistry between the both of them. If Elise had a personality and her relationship with Sonic is fixed, then Iβd totally be a fan of Sonelise XD.Β

To me, I always so Elise from the perspective of someone who tried to write a good character and filled in the blanks in my mind automatically. A strong willed, emotionally reserved, but ultimately naive and immature girl who not even the council considered worthy of the title of Queen, still referring to her as princess.
Of course, not many people see it that way. That's why I created my AU to compensate for the lack of good and consistant writing, They aren't paired up in my AU as I made their relationship a brother/sister thing like Shadow and Maria is supposed to be. #TaiCosFioZoe for the win!

To start off, Shadow and Maria was more a brother/sister relationship with no romantic undertones whatsoever. Sonic and Elise was overtly romantic and ontop of that, kiss. It's disgusting.

I don't know why people hate Sonelise when Sonic was originally going to have a human girlfriend (Madonna) and the reason she was taken out was to avoid the Damsel in distress clichΓ©. Shadria however is one of the most overrated pairings in Sonic, with people often cloning and/or turning Maria into a hedgehog as a convenient way to avoid beastiality. You know, the excuse they use to hate on Sonelise. I don't ship those pairings (I'm more of a Sonic x Tiara Boobowski shipper) but I'm curious as to why people hate one ship but adored the other.

I think the main problem is that Elise and Sonic have only known one another for a couple of days and then... yeah. With Shadow and Maria, we don't know how long they've known each other for, but it has to have been for a while. Plus, Elise isn't that well written, and while we don't know that much about Maria, there is just enough info for fans to get invested in her. I don't support beastialty either, or either one of these couples (Well, Shadow and Maria as siblings,) but I believe I got my point across.

You're assuming all Sonic fans think exactly the same. In my experience, most people who hate ShAdria also hate Sonelise for the same reasons (so-called "bestiality" between fictional characters). People who like Shadria and not Sonelise dislike it because Elise is an insufferable character and an entire game was wasted on their romance.

For me: when it comes to Sonelise, I dislike it because Elise isn't a well written character. I had doubts Sonic would go out with someone like her. DESPITE that she's a human. (I would have like it if she were to have a better role)

lol i thhink shadria is cute, especially human shadow x maria, and as for sonelise, well, elise kissing sonic on the lips is weird...but other than that, it's ok, especially human sonic x elise, but then there are other human x hedgehog pairings like sonic x hatsune miku, and man that pairing is really funny XD

I hate sonelise, but mostly because Elise was an horrible character, poorly written and so was the story in which she appears... And I don't ship shadria either, because they were too young for having a relationship, and I don't think humanxUltimate Life Form mobian/alien is possible. Plus, Maria died before anything happened...

Well in Shadria's defense, Shadow and Maria have a touching backstory, while Sonic and Elise just don't make sense, plus Elise was a whore to begin with.

Well, personally I'm a Shadria fan. If you're not, that's cool, but hear me out. First of all, who knows how long Shadow and Maria stayed on the ARK before G.U.N invaded? And how long did Sonic and Elise know each other? Only a week or so. Also I find Elise more annoying than Omochao, and I don't think Sonic 06 needed her (It was already a horrid game to begin with). At least Maria plays a role in Shadow's personality and creation, but Elise is just there, and she does nothing but get kidnapped.

You know what "Shadria" means, right?
It's a pairing. Couple. C O U P L E.
All these things that happened on ARK, were building Shadow character and his friendship with Maria,
for ending to be more climatic.
Friendship has nothing to do with love. Do you even know how love relationships look like?
"but it's not literally love relationship!" - Then it's just Friendship.
And if it's friendship, don't call it pairing.
Both Maria & Elise were Mary-Sues too btw. Elise was just more annoying, and has nothing to do with Sonic backstory.
ALSO, when will this pairing exist?Β
If it has happened on ARK, then both characters will be perceived as lovers, not friends. And that was never said in Games.
If it will happen in future, then Maria must be resurrected somehow.
Maria was created only in order to act important function in Shadow story.
Resurrecting her will make no sense, because her bare character is... um... She don't have an actual character.
So this treatment is not needed.
Shadria will also cause big harm to Shadow's character.
For me, it's absolutely worst Sonic Pairing.
Confusing, Wrong, Not Needed, And simply stupid.

Hey dude, I know this is like, none of my beeswax but when you said "Shadria will also cause big harm to Shadow's character.", I couldn't help but notice another character from another media.
Twilight Sparkle: She was a normal pony who was perceived as just a mare who lived in a library who had six friends. Then she turns into a pony with not just a horn, but wings too. So, she changed. Her personality was tweaked, her appearance was changed, and other ponies didn't look at her the same way(kinda).Β
So Shadow would be a better character because
a. He wouldn't be "EMO" and "EDGYYYY" as people call him
b. There wouldn't be as many idiotic fangirls
c. It would make sense, since there's Sonamy, and Maria would be a great rival for Amy, seeing as how Amy has mistaken Shadow for Sonic, Maria could get jealous or something
And I actually would have supported Sonelise if it weren't for Sonic 006 being non-canon.

Well that's your opinion. In
my opinion Shadria is a cute couple, and if it weren't for Maria, Shadow would have never been created. Think about it: Gerald initially rejected Project Shadow, but when he found out about Maria being ill, he decided to take up the project. There are several redirection theories out there, but if they aren't your thing, that's fine. I'll admit it: 90% of them don't make sense. And I DO know that Shadria means a couple, there's no need to be a smartass about it. But if you've played Sonic '06 (which I did), you know just how annoying Elise is, gameplay-wise and story-wise. So I do understand why fans hate her. I am among those who hate her. If you liked Elise, I have two things to say. 1) WTF DID YOU EVEN WATCH GAMPLAY FOOTAGE OF SONIC 06?!?! And 2) That's ok, because I don't care what you think.

If you really want to know my opinion about her/sonelise/sonic06, then read.
Sonic 06 is a bad game, but way too overhated too. There are a lot of other terrible games from Sonic franchise,
and many worse than this one.
Just shut up about it already, and stop using it as argument.
Elise is terrible character, no doubts.
I'm just saying that she's having similar to Maria dose of character developement (Zero).
Sonelise is pathetic, but milion times better than Shadria.
Why?
Sonic x Elise is just a bad pairing. Shadow x Maria is bad pairing, that destroys friendship, backstories and any sense.
If you like it, I'm ok with it, and anyone should be.
But at least agree that this pairing is just your own crazy shipping, not something that can/should be real.
Like me, I'm Sonadow fanboy. I ship them, because I like their rivalry and character opposites.
But I know it's just fan couple, that will never exist in original series.
