Description The colored version of the Spider-man+Gwen Stacy-Green Goblin fan art I hope I did this one justice, I did it kinda quick.
Colored again with Copics, Inks done with Faber Castells, pens that I've found do not smear when you run Copics over them. Microns tend to, which surprises me.

Here are links to the previous versions: Inked = [link]
Pencilled = [link]

I know I shouldn't, but I think I wanna buy more of those Essentials...

It would be cool to see this story adapted into an animated movie, just like what DC and Warner Bros. Animation are doing. But instead it's Marvel and Walt Disney Animation Studios.

Cast:

Christopher Daniel Barnes as Spider-Man/Peter Parker

Neil Ross as The Green Goblin/Norman Osborn

and Jennifer Hale as Gwen Stacy

Ahhh! GWEN! *sobs* This scene though...hurt to watch. I mean the whole final act of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is DRIPPING with tension because as a huge fan I know "it" was gonna happen soon and as soon as I heard the Goblin's laugh I nearly shouted "Oh SHIT!". And THIS happened and I had to look away actually...And DAMMIT Sony! This is really good btw, lol. Wish I was this good with Copics.

I totally agree, I knew it would come, but I hoped it would be in number 3. I love LOVED that movie, it blew up all my expectations. Thanks, although this drawing is pretty old I should update it, for the movie

Yep. I really hate that the critics are just tearing into this movie...I think it's the best Spider-Man film to date. And yeah that sounds like a neat idea!

Yeah, I think I agree on it being the best Spiderman movie so far. It had everything I want from a Spidey movie, it was great. I hope 3 is even better!Look for my new drawing soon

I'm getting the first two volumes of the Essentials and I'm tempted to use color pencils to color them in.

I used to do that with comics when I was little! I think the comic gods didn't like it so they cursed me to being bad at coloring =B I'd do the same although I sorta had to hunt for my first Spidey essential. I'd hate to ruin it, but then again, you might make it look super awesome

I hope if they bring the Goblin back that its in the third movie. It'd be great to see their relationship progress over 3 movies

That would be cool to see her eventually, although I hope its not too fetishy And she'd need to be part of a two villain movie, cuz shes a great love interest/antagonist but I dunno if she could carry a movie on her own.

Kinda sad that the writers had to replace her with a character they didn't even like.

I find it fascinating that even I don't really care for Mary Jane I think that his other love interests were more interesting than she was. I was reading the essential Amazing Spider-Man issues and his relationship with Betty Bryant had a lot of depth to it, and I found myself wishing it would happen even though I know it was ultimately not going to I do like what she's up to now in the Venom comics tho!

I don't read a lot of comics anymore, so I have no idea what's going on. Too confusing, anyway.

I mostly follow creators. Right now my favorite writers are Rick Remender and Matt Fraction. I find that if I read something by them, I usually enjoy it. I may add Dan Slott to that list soon

He did a lot of the stories for the Transformers back when Marvel had the comic rights. He wrote stories for the Dreamwave Transformers as well, and now he writes stories for the IDW Transformers series.

Wow, I dunno if that'd be good thing or a bad thing XD It's a great story but that would such a rough point to jump into

GreedLin In reply to JorgeSantiagoJr [2011-06-07 04:32:07 +0000 UTC]

true, I had to go back and find older copies. I never found the whole story though. Finally years later I found the Graphic Novel of the whole story.

tukaram [2011-04-04 05:02:23 +0000 UTC]

yeah, faber castell liners are very good I like them even more than copic liners.
I recommend you to use more various tones and colors for coloring (for example, for shading of spiderman's costume use light brown over red, grey over blue). That will make your pictures more alive. some more practice and everything will be ok.
Buy moarrr of those essentials 8)

JorgeSantiagoJr In reply to tukaram [2011-04-04 19:38:55 +0000 UTC]

I dont mind Copic liners, but I do like that their brush pens have various sizes. That's probably their only lead over other pens, but Microns and Faber Castells are just easier to find

Ya know I've tried that in the past, using non-local colors in these pics and I've had bad luck with them with markers so I tended to shy away from them. I think now that I have more markers I should revisit that idea. I'll give a shot, thanks for the advice

And I'm gonna, that one Spider-man Essential is the best comic I've read in a while. I'm gonna order more and then read the Doctor Strange essential while I wait for them to arrive =3

Kinda quick!?! Dang, it'd take me at least two months to get that much color on something. I like what you did on Spidy's eyes, the seem very remorseful.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

JorgeSantiagoJr In reply to ExtraGrandeJerolo [2011-04-04 19:35:02 +0000 UTC]

With copics it's easy to lay down a lot of color really fast. And that eye thing is something I've seen other artists do, like his mask changes to suit his expression, which I think is awesome because its hard to tell what face he's making a lot, and I think its a great way to show it without the need to put in a thought bubble or a caption that says "Spidey was sad"
