What a great rendition and concept painting of Excalibur.
I'm a very big fan of this legend.
I feel most paintings depict King Arthur as the main subject and Excalibur as a secondary subject.
I really like how you made Excalibur the main focus by enlarging it more than what would be considered normal size/ This I feel brings the sword and the stone to the foreground.
The light source coming from behind and through the sword really draws the viewer's eye into the painting and holds the viewer's attention.
The dark around the light areas is a wonderful contrast and add a lot of interest to the painting.
You have depicted a real intense desire of the character to pull the sword from the stone. Fantastic work on this painting!!!!
Thank you so much for submitting The Sword in the Stone to the group's showcase gallery.

Awesome work. Love power coming from the blade and way it feels like it is impacting the world around him.
I'm a fan of "Excalibur" too. Revised the film last year and it still holds up really well. Such wonderful dreamlike imagery.

Usually magical swords tend to look cheesy infantasy illustrations, but this one is pretty impressice. Dramatic scene and nice choice of POV!

Thank you ! I made several changes to the sword to make it look more serious. I hate swords that are a too cheesy. One can edit these things forever but I wanted the sword to glow to make the image very eye catching. Thanks for liking the perspective. It was fun to do.

Lovely piece of work! I really like the way you've suggested a sword of light, and letting the lines carry on into the stone works really well.
I loved Excalibur too, so this is real treat.

Very beautifully achieved! And one of my favourite Disney Films. This concept Version is dynamic, magnificent in the colour tonal schemes and gesture. Looks like a frame from a PS4 game it's very convincing. Well done.
