Fun fact: there were plans for a JLU episode showing the Birds of Prey, but they couldn't use Batgirl 'cause she was in the "The Batman" cartoon. Parts of the original script were eventually recycled into the "Double Date" episode.

In the DC comic 'verse, sure. But this being the animated DCU, who's to say what would have happened. And if you want to consider Batman Beyond within the same continuity (which I do for the most part), Barbara Gordon was still walking around.

And THIS is why the live action Birds of Prey failed miserably...when will they learn the DCU's strength lies in animation?!

They never even really scratched the surface of the JSA members other than showing them in background scenes. I was really looking forward to seeing Hourman and Dr. Midnite in action. I am sooooo looking forward them beginning to release Justice League on Blu-ray in August.

They are? Cool. Though I'll probably never get a Blu-ray myself. I would settle if they would re-release season two JL with anamorphic widescreen.
It is a shame they ended Justice League while it was still a viable franchise. There was still a lot they could have done with Batman and Superman. And we never did get a Wonder Woman series or even a DVD feature
Maybe now that Timm and co. are doing DVD movies, and with live-action Wonder Woman falling through, they'll try doing a Wonder Woman DVD. It's bound to be better than any live-action movie that might never get made

It's a real shame. Still, so long as Timm and Dini are in the business, there's a chance for it all to come back. Also, Young Justice in the Timmverse and Cassandra Cain as Batgirl would be major win.
Truthfully, as much as I love Batman Beyond, they limited their story telling options a lot by making it part of the mainstream DCAU.
