Awesome work. I think the hood actually works. It's difficult to say for certain [as I haven't seen it without] but it frames it nicely and for a moment it's ambiguous whether or not it's a mask or a painted face.
In short, it's cool!

Damn, you should get rid of the hood though and just leave the mask, the hood does nothing for it
