Here in Canada ( and probably most of North America has it ) we have very similar plants. Their size varies but they usually are about as tall as an adult hand. They are edible ( and very tasty ( for wild edible plants ) ). I frequently eat them fried when hitchhiking. Here we call them " violin heads " but it isn't the scientific name so I couldn't say if it is exactly the same kind of plant.

I like the contrast on this - it looks a bit like film. It's a bit shaky, but I know macro's are difficult for that!
