Description Photograph of the river Afon Glaslyn near Beddgelert in the Snowdonia National Part in Wales.

This photograph was taken using Sony's PlayMemories Smooth Reflections app as I currently do not have access to ND filters.

The app works similar to HDR mode, it will take anywhere between 20 and over 100 photographs depending on your settings and will merge them together in-camera to create a long exposure affect. The drawbacks however is that it produces a very over-saturated HDR affect and the final file type is a jpg so it makes editing in post trickier without loosing the details.

Great photo! It's amazing what image editing software can do nowadays! Nikon does not have software like Sony does, but my camera came with a RAW editor, an image sorter and a video editor for free. In my opinion Sony and Nikon make the best electronics in the world. I own a pair of Sony headphones and have an old Sont BetaMovie. It doesn't work but I enjoy collecting cameras.

I'd like to do an ND filter and a merged-image of the same thing one day and compare the two results, I think that will be a little review of the app I have in the planning as soon as I get an ND filter.
