Description It's been far too long since I've had the chance to make a city collage and I've missed making them. Here is a new one - collaborating with Seattle based photographer Will Austin: [link] This will be the first in a new series that will be popping up in the next few months.

The North American version of the Sasquatch (Bigfoot) legend started in this area, that combined with the high tech nature of this part of the States and I had the basis for my concept for this city. Seattle represents the headquarters or starting point for companies like Boeing, Amazon and Microsoft among a host of other software companies.

This was a pretty difficult project to work on as I've never attempted to make a biped before, it's also difficult to make one without it looking a bit like a Transformer, although I think this is quite suitable given the amount of tech that is here.

Seattle still has a pretty positive vibe to it - compared to other parts of the states it has been largely untouched by the GFC.

All stock of Seattle by Will Austin, all other stock by me.

Check me out on Facebook: [link] Make sure you check out Will's work too: [link]

Are you familiar with the comic book, THE AUTHORITY? One of the characters, Jack Hawksmoor, is the "god of cities" and at some point, it turns out that cities are just battle suits that he can use. I thought the idea was kinda lame, until I saw this piece. Shit like this should happen in movies. This is epic.

This is just an epic picture...although, I don't understand why wheels are at the ends of each finger, but this picture just blows a ton of fake bots out of the way.

Thanks

The landing gear is supposed to be a result of Boeing's presence in Seattle. I chose it basically because the hydraulics make for fairly convincing "muscles" and tires give it something to grip with (maybe the brakes are on?).

Thanks That's great to hear - I'm always interested/worried what people who live in the cities think of the collages I make of them.

It really is fantastic. All of the little details that just scream Seattle (like Dicks, Ivars, and the pink elephant car wash) are fantastic, and then you included both stadiums, parts of the EMP...it's really well done.

This would be SO epic if the whole thing was in sepia tone. The color makes it a bit warmer than Sasquatch should be hahaha

But otherwise I love it! A job very well done

Thanks! Yeah with buildings to work with the posture and form were the only ways to make it look like Sasquatch (ie I couldn't put his trademark fur on him, etc)
