The Novus cultivate a strong sense of patriotism and strong family dynamics among all their people, often to the point where racial differences often fade as all are kin within the Novus Republic. However do to their near endless conflict with Immortal forces, the humans within the Republic are often looked down upon. Many people have lost their homes, friends and family to immortal attacks and slaver along their borders, entire Clans being wiped out and destroyed sometime do to the conflict. Even though humans have also lost their families and loved ones, many of the other races within the republic struggle at time to see a different between a Immortal and human.

Kahili would be no different as her homeworld was assaulted by immortal forces, the local planetary defense forces and a contingent of the local legion combated the invaders, Kahili’s father being part of the local Legion and was able to secure her a way off world during the first wave of evacuation. Sadly this would be the only as the Immortals who attacked didn’t come to the world for slaves, nor did they come for the world itself, the came for blood. Shortly after the evacuation ships and their escorts were able to punch a way through the immortal attempt at a blockade, many of the enemy ship started to rearrange themselves around their flagship. Though Kahili was still a child she watched as her home world be destroyed in a moment as the Flagship used a Planet Cracker, a bright crimson beam shot down from the ship and quickly, almost effortlessly strip away the atmosphere before ripping the world apart, and just like that, her father, her friends and all who lived on that world was gone.

Years later, with the fires of vengeance and hate fueled Kahili to follow in the steps of her father, joining the legion her father stood with, the Black Guard Legion as a Devastator, a rare sight as many humans often join the auxiliary or the shield bearers. But Kahili wanted to hurt the immortal, to shear immoral flesh and rend their bones, armed with a custom Thunder Cannon, Kahili removed the safety features and overclocked the power output turning a already deadly weapon into a true monster able to slag tanks and atomize lesser targets, she will destroy any immortal she sees the same way they did her home and her people.
