Description

Elijah flung the ball into the air and a new creature tore into the arena. Its rich forest green carapace glinted in the stadium's floodlights and its long, blade-like hands twitched in anticipation. It was a Scyther.
Elijah simply called out one word.

“Go”

Immediately the insect shot across the field, zigzagging at such speeds it almost became a blur.
The Kadabra seemed surprised by the speed of the bug and didn’t have time to react as Scyther unleashed a fury of slashes like a tornado of blades.

“Double Team then Fury Cutter, this is one well-trained Scyther” called an announcer.

“And without any opening instructions, that’s impressive!” the other replied.

The Kadabra suddenly raised another invisible shield just before the Scyther could get in another blow. The result sent sparks flying as the insect’s blades scraped against the transparent wall, knocking it back.

“Kenesis, Teleport, Psychic, NOW!” shouted Jack, and in a split second the Kadabra let out a blinding pulse of Psychic energy, knocking the Scyther off balance.

The Kadabra suddenly disappeared and then reappeared directly behind it and let off what could only be described as a Psychic Sonic boom which hit the insect with tremendous force, firing it 6ft into the air and landing 10ft away with an audible ‘whack-crunch!’

Both Pokemon were badly hurt and stood up slowly, staring at each other, eyes locked, heavily panting and covered in battle wounds.

“Scyther, bring it home! X-Scissor!” called Elijah.

“Kadabra, hold position” encouraged Jack. This was make or break.

The Scyther held out its blades to the side for balance as its claws dug into the grass sending clumps of dirt flinging out behind it. It curved in a crescent moon across the field as it dashed towards its enemy. At the last second, it launched into the air…
