There's no specific guideline on Trolls or any mythical creature. In fact, they were never traditionally green, they looked more like hairy men with big noses in Norse folklore. Fact is, you can never say what is and isn't when it comes to any mythical creature, as long as they fit a basic guideline of that mythical beast then that's what they look like in that particular story
