Erika and I made our way up a steep bank, the air was beginning to smell damp as we ventured deeper into the forest. Dappled light littered the floor and small clouds of insects danced in the streams of light.
We came over a small hill when I saw it. Chewing on some ferns and surrounded by butterflies was a very large Venusaur. If I had to guess, It was roughly 7-8ft tall, even taller if you counted the enormous flower erupting from its back. This was a male, as its flower had a bowl-like structure in the middle, rather than a dome, like the females.
Without hesitation, Erika let out a loud whistle and began to run down to the beast. For a moment my heart sank. Male Venusaur are known to be quite aggressive, especially when away from a group.
It turned and let out a deep rumble. As she walked up to it, she placed her hand on it forehead, and then, without any fear, leant her entire body weight onto its muzzle and hugged it.
Erika called me over, assuring me that I was perfectly safe. It turned out that this Bull Venusaur, named Oldrik, was owned by her family. She told me that he was roughly 40 years old, and was given to her father by her grandfather as a Bulbasaur.
She planned to introduce him to the herd in the next two months with the hope they might breed.

I’m finally redoing the final starter evolutions!
I have to say this was a really tricky one to get right but I’m really happy with the result!
