Description I believe this is my first attempt at tryin to paint a realistic animal. This is a painting of a... *checks book* a coati. A member of the racoon family, and is indigenous to north america.

Anyhoo... This is done in acrylic paints.
It's roughly 9"x12".

I couldve spent more time on it, I just got tired of painting branches. =\

I don't know what your reference for this painting was but the composition is absolutely great. The coati and the bigger branches around him form a very interesting circular shape. It is not necessarily a bad thing that the small branches are painted in a more sloppy way. This way the eye gets always directed back to the center. Definitely a +fav.

You can tell you didn't spend as much time on the branches, they're not nearly as well rendered as that adorable creature. Great job

Why thank you. And thank you for the plus Fav.

And it's funny how the furry critter took me a small fraction of the time that it took me to do the branches.

Lol, I hear you. This is a really good painting!! *hugs the animal* (it's safer to hug painted animals)
There's a sketch i haven't finished yet of a friend of mine, who has a MASSIVE bush of super curly hair - and i'm trying to do all of the locks seperately... Man... Anyway. It's great to see you painting stuff again. You've got a lot of talent. Use it! (I command you)

If you had been born five hundred and fifty years ago, when artists were societal keystones as opposed to dust bunnies that politicians brushed from their shoulders, I believe we'd be studying your work today.

haha! Very well put my friend! Truely though, you give me too much credit.

Truely the best two compliments Ive ever recieved have come from you. The other back on "the old forum" when u replied something like "jesus fucking christ!" to one of my pictures. Hehe. I was so touched.

Hehe, the third best would have to be when someone once called a painting of mine "buttered", back in highschool.
