"My dear friend Thomas - I have, as is my calling, been searching the countryside for one of those blood-sucking monstrosities. Here, in the village of Femsburg, I believe there may be one of those accursed creatures - yet, despite my days-long searching, none of the usual signs have shown themselves. My instincts, which I do not believe are at all diminished by last month's injuries, say that this town is under the accursed "protection" of a vampyre. Yet the townsfolk seem happy, and show no sign of the dulled mind of thralls, and even the young maidens seem to act with even greater abandon! There is a manse, of which the women of the town seem to speak of with coy glee, which I will soon search for whatever leech may exist within... Should a week go by from the writing of this letter, I beseech that you search out the village, so that if I have been corrupted by the vampyre you may put me to proper rest...----------------------------------------------------------
