The reference was some yellow House-wallpaper I had saved on my computer. I picked my colors literally at random. Seriously, this is what happens when you draw in a room too dark.

I think I've prompted several times over the years that I should draw a portrait if House or Hugh Laurie, but I've always sort of squinted away from it. It's just that Hugh Laurie has such a recongnizable and sort of strange looks that it's really hard to get it right. That's why I picked a profile, somehow I felt that I would manage better if I don't have to deal so much about his expressive eyes.

Then again it's hard to draw picture of House too, mostly because every iconic promo-picture has already been drawn by great artists, and I didn't really feel like repeating something that's already been done better. I was considering picking some of the early season promos as a reference, but then decided to go with this. But have you seen season 8 promos, before House cut his hair after jail? Seriously, that's the only time in the history of the show, when House stopped looking like Hugh Laurie, it was just House, the character. The actor had been lost somewhere that you couldn't even see him anymore... that's sort of really awesome and little scary.

But that was actually reason why I didn't pic that as my reference... because I'm sure it wouldn't have looked like House after my dose of psychedelics, because it wouldn't have looked like Hugh Laurie at all.

By the way, I can't say I enjoyed trying to explain my grandma what does I <3 Vicodin means xD I'm pretty sure she thinka I'm in a painkiller high myself.
