I'm surprised that no one's commented about how you put Junji Ito's name in the liquid. Nice touch!
I usually don't like horror mangas that are extremely gory because some of those artists can make the images so detailed that it's like looking at some twisted version of "Gray's Anatomy"! However, I think that Ito creates a nice balance in his art that's between "realistic" and "cartoonish". It's almost as though he's giving you a choice to see the strange images as being humorously odd or just plain creepy.
I like to think that he writes the majority of his stories as though they were the reader's own nightmares and dreams, mostly because when just enough of what makes up a satisfactory ending is put to paper, it either ends abruptly or kind of drifts off. It is as though you have awakened and the dream has either startled you awake or it fades away as you slowly regain consciousness.
Anyway, glad to see that you're a fellow fan of Junji Ito. It's nice to see this recent iconic duo in your style! However, if I've gone on for too long with this comment,...

good eye and awesome write up! Those are some really great observations on Ito's work. I never really thought about his style being approached in that way but it's a very cool way of looking at it.
There definitely is something relatable to his horror that creeps into everyday stuff and makes your skin crawl. It hangs around you a really long time. Ito horror has quite the half life!
