As controversial a figure as John K is, I have the utmost respect for him as an artist and he is certainly an influence on my cartoons. It was from Ren & Stimpy that I first learned characters don't have to be limited by a default design in their expressions, you can stretch them into all kinds of bizarre and unusual shapes based on their emotion in the moment.

I LOVED Ren & Stimpy (at least the first two seasons) back in the day...Not so much the later ones when Bill Wray took over.
Haven't seen the SpikeTV version yet.
