What I enjoy most about this piece is Starlight's attitude. It just seems incredibly charming to see her study her homework with great enthusiasm. It makes me feel bad for not putting that much effort into my studying! The lighting effects are also well done, showcasing not only the three-dimensional shapes of Starlight and her chair, but also how bright the candles are and how much light they give off. I also like the bright lines surrounding the book and quill. It's a fascinating way to indicate how she's holding them with magic. If there's one complaint I have, it's the background. As always, you manage to add plenty of detail to the picture, which helps the observer get drawn into the scene. However, the background pops out way too much, and distracts from the main subject. If you could find a way to make it more out of focus, like adding a blur effect, that would be very beneficial. Other than that, this piece is very well done. It presents an intriguing idea with Twilight's former student, and it has good execution. Overall, it's really enjoyable to look at. Keep up the awesome work, Jowybean!

It's an interesting piece showing a more adorkable side to starlight. I can easily imagine this is what she does in spare time on her own. I imagine despite being more social thanks the twilight, She probably prefers to have some quiet time. I would talk about how Starlight is a mishmash of Twilight and Sunset but I'll get sidetracked. Art wise it's what I expect from your work, nice little hand drawn look to the coloring. Something that would never appear on the show. I know it's digital work on a tablet, but does have that nice organic look to it. Knowing how long it probably takes to make these episodes of the show they probably don't have the time to make the color in the same fashion. Or they have similar software but go with the more slicker look, but hey DHX can have their way and artists like you can have your way. Nice to see a work I can review with a background, keep it up.
