Finished reading A Series of Unfortunate Events ;_____; I HAVE SO MANY QUESTIONS MANI’m specially fond of Klauss and Sunny’s bond, throughout the series they seem more attached to one another, though Violet carried the heaviest burden for needing to taking care of both. I also loved how every book began with a dedication to Beatrice and Lemony’s depressing, melancholic tone whenever he wrote about her, so sad... My take on the Baudelaires is a mix of the movie and book representations.
I haven’t watched the Netflix version of it, I love Jim Carrey too much to see Neil Harris as Count Olaf. + 7 +’’

yeah, I think it is up to that point! They updated it a couple moths ago(maybe January) and I didn't watch them then so I'm watching them now also, another quick thing, their episodes are split in two and they are about 30 min long and it's a good watch. (there are also secret jokes in it that I didn't even notice until my dad pointed them out)

Also I totally felt the same way you did when the Netflix series was coming out cuz I was attached to Carrey's portrayal lol. In time, I decided to give it a go and I really ended up enjoying it. You pretty much warm up to Neil Harris' efforts and he kinda slides into the role well, esp with Olaf's silliness and cruel nature. Plus, I think they kinda give a nod to Carrey's Captain Sham disguise by making the voice sound just like he did lmao
Either way, I hope you get to see it eventually. It works as a faithful adaption and for the reasons we wouldn't have gotten another film anyways q w qqqq

Many people who love the series were left unsatisfied by the ending but in my opinion, the ending was perfect. Count Olaf dies and can no longer destroy the children's lives, they finally get to mourn and accept the death of their parents, and they sail away with baby Beatrice into the unknown.
The series is called "A Series of Unfortunate Events" for a reason and wouldn't make sense to have a perfectly clear, happily ever after. Lemony left the ending ambiguous so readers could at least imagine a happier ending for them, and some references in his earlier books suggest that the Baudelaires grew up into adults and moved on with their lives.

And I agree, I felt that there were far too many mysteries unsolved, but I’ve noticed that in a lot of novels, where endings are left open to the reader’s imagination.

Oh my gosh I love this series ;-;. I've only seen the Netflix series, but boyyyyy-- it is good. It's just kinda saddening to see their story go that way, their sibling relationship is just.. Sweet as well ;-;. I haven't seen the end of the series YET, which is infuriating. I just love this piece.. Warm colors, and just makes it perfect with a good old sibling hug <3.
