I'm jumping on the bandwagon for that whole Greninja's in the new Super Smash Bros. thing.I LOVE Greninja and have one myself. Not sure what else to do with the picture and I couldn't think of what to do for a background. So yay gradients!!

its a smash bros joke, for many updates now, nintendo has been making greninja weaker, or in other terms, nerfed

Not anything big, but I noticed that Greninja's... eye bumps? eye groves? Those lumps that lead to his eyes are the same color as the front of his torso (yellowish-white). It doesn't matter much. I'm just a bit too observant for my own good.

I FREAKING NOTICED THAT TOO. OMG. I hated myself after that one. But I only noticed the day after i posted it and felt too lazy to go back and fix it. Maybe this Greninja is special and just has blue eye ridges.

Gradients solve everything!
Seriously though, really nice drawing! My only note is that the water shurikens' appearance don't quite fit the rest of the character. I have this quirk that just can't leave hard vs. soft lines alone in the same picture. (Gradients can go anywhere, though. XD )

I couldn't figure how to draw them smoothly, since water spouting around isn't exactly the smoothest thing. I understand what you're saying though.
