Thanks for commenting. Yep that's why it has that name but those days aren't quite over. Go ahead if you want to do a painting of it, I had all of the "Chinese" watercolor supplies, loaned my neighbor the rheem of rice paper and never saw it again... Not to speak of the fact, why repeat myself, I can't see a way to improve it from here.

I have a rather huge and what used to be gigantic menagorie of various old film equipment, I doubt you'll ever see any of that work on DA.

I'm not all that wealty, so when I went to order color darkroom chemicals and they told me that they were out of stock, I assumed that that had phased out those supplies as well as the supplies they previously had. That pretty much left me with a lot of equipment that was totally worthless. That did however leave my darkroom fully still equipped for Black and White.

So I looked at digitals, there were a few superzooms that I had wanted, the entire camera was less than the price on upgrading my antequated lenses, the prices were good. Then I remembered that I just disliked zoom lenses. I grew up in areas where there is snow, I assume much like were you live, for a good part of the year. Zooms are terrible and attached to a fancy high teck camera is worst.

So...I limited my investment to the maximum, assuming that I would dislike anything that I had bought. And worked my way up the shopping list from there.

The sole reason for my choice had little to do with the Quality of the photos, I was because the camera was capable of being used with my old lenses.
That photo was taken with a Nikon D1x I had just purchased used from a total stranger on the web. The lens was a Nikon 200mm ais manual focus, sole reason for that choice was that I had never had a problem with it.

I was still testing the camera out at the time of this photo. In fact off of the frame there is a huge chunk of dirt on the camera's imager. I did then decide that the camera was worth cleaning fixing and keeping though.

I don't know what equipment is availble to you but I am curious what you use.

Thanks for the flowers Rosie and sorry it took a while for my reply. Your not the only one who dosn't check the gallery often, for some reason your nice comment never appeared on my front page.

If you think comparing our egrtes would be interesting, just let me know. There should be some difference between the two birds, afterall they were born into different gene pools a couple million years before someone thought to pick the same name out of a hat.
