okay, so this piece has been a long time in the making. I had a dream about this fine fishy fellow & decided I needed to paint him. I think I started him about a year ago and got terribly bogged down in trying to figure out how to paint his scales. Initially a had drawn line art for each scale and i tried to paint them that way, but i couldn't get it to look right. I tried on and off to tackle the scale problem, but I was only recently able to let go my perfectionism enough to fudge the scales a little. Still, fullview and check out the detail. Not as detailed as I would have wanted, but my patience and sanity has limits. I did use some anatomical reference. Bonus points if you can figure out who's face I used for reference.
