Transformers G1 fan art.
Autobot Targetmasters from left Sureshot, Pointblank, and Crosshairs.

Comments
I wanted to draw these 3 characters from their Japanese designs instead from the US designs. I really like these characters from the original US G1 series but they didn't get enough screen time where as in the Japanese G1 Headmasters series they got given more development for their origin and personalities. I like how they were betrayed through the whole Headmasters series as strong veteran warriors and the different approach on how they connect and use their Targetmasters. This is the very first time drawing these characters and I really enjoyed drawing them. I recently received the toys of these great characters which really helped with reference details. The scene they are in is back on Cybertron throughout past wars and battles. What I can say these are my favourite characters and toys from Season 4/Headmasters series and 1987 toyline! TARGET ON!

And I recently looked at Pointblank's toy on tfwiki: looks awesome. I'll have to read their story in the Headmasters series. Sure sounds interesting the way you put it.

I thought the AoE Crosshairs was ok for a live-action movie version but not my cup of Energon in the end.

Haha I understand what you mean. I was actually similar, so confident and somewhat arrogant sometimes but they have a reason, they are veteran pros of war and they only want what's best and they acted as big brothers and teachers for the Headmasters.

G1tastic! That makes two of us! I like to discuss and mention the Japanese G1 series, they hold up very well on their own and do pay respect to the original US G1 series. What do you think?

I agree with you there. The concept and idea of "Transtectors" was more logical and cooler because the human parts would instead would be robots/Transformers in Headmasters. To control an entire Transformer head is kinda of like Voltron-like to me. Though if Rebirth was a 5-parter episode as it was intended to be or a whole series based on the Headmasters/Targetmasters like the Japanese G1 Headmasters. I think it could of been better but it was so rushed and that's why I think it suffers mostly from quality, but I'm grateful we got Headmasters because it does fill in the gap more effectively.

Thank you kindly badnugly. I think they tend to be hard to remember in general because they weren't shown that much in the US season 4 Rebirth, but in the Japanese Transformers Headmasters they got some good development. So yeah check it out and if you get back into G1 the magic will come again!

They look very tough. And Im jealous to hear of your figure acquisition! Pointblank always appealed to me, and he does again here in your pic. Your figures are never static. It is hard to tell if Im just applying their personalities from memory, but Im pretty sure you do manage to capture their inner selves with your careful attention to detail.
