Transformers G1 - Fan Art - Turbomaster - Hyperdrive
Function: Supreme Commander (I don't have solid information if his title is given to be the Supreme Commander of the entire Autobots of his time or I like to think his Supreme Commander of the Turbomasters).
Information about Hyperdrive: Hyperdrive was a character planned as the showpiece or pinnacle for the 1992 European series of Transformers. He was to be the leader who stood above Thunder Clash. The mysterious warrior visible through Skyquake's scope is none other than Hyperdrive.

I love the Autobot Turbomasters and wanted to do a fan The Ark book / Sunbow cel animation style character model sheet for the character Hyperdrive.
Hyperdrive can transform into a Futuristic Semi-Truck and Trailer and into a robot and back again!
I've always wanted to tackle my own adapted version Hyperdrive's design and create a colour palette for him while using the amazing original illustration which helped immensely for creating this. The most challenging part is giving him my own imaginary potential colour scheme for his design as it was never brought to light so I just thought of many things. Those things were reflecting on the theme colours of the Turbomasters group and the era he comes from. I used the vibrant, retro colours, that those toy/gimmicks had. I also thought about making his colour scheme unique as the Turbomaster leader and if he was a Prime level character and making me decided to choose certain colours that made him unique among the past Autobot leaders while invoking a Autobot themed leader.

I'm quite happy with the results and still may alter the colours in the future but this is my fan take on Hyperdrive's character design and colours and would love to hear what you guys think of both, do you think it suits him?

While in the process of creating Hyperdrive's artwork I had the pleasure of working with the talented artist: SigmaCore who does amazing Transformers sprite work! Please check out his page! He has done a sprite version of Hyperdrive, using my work here and combining his own creative process to achieve a final result. It is fulfilling and satisfying to see the hard work that has been put into the collaborative work of the incredible character Hyperdrive!
