I love this, saw it immediately because of the faces in the rocks. All of them offering cheeky impish type personalities. Some darker and a little more menacing but water cools calms and cleanses so im not scared.....
The water is frothy and surreal as it blends with itself and then makes a confined space rather than billowing out getting less and less. I have never managed to do it right so im not offering advice but fill the bath 6 inches and if your water pressure is good turn the tap on and watch what happens to the spray. It may offer you a way to improve your perception.
These guys have no teeth and large mouths - i think they speak like James Earl Jones who did Darth Vadors voice in Star Wars originals.
I feel comforted by his voice and know the rocks would be a place to come for sympathy, answers and understanding.
Love the tiny hint of gree grass on the top of the rocks.
What ive learnt from crafting friends that if you create a piece on computer or paper if it goes wrong or your unhappy with it- throw it away!!!
If you dont it never goes right. Youll throw all and sundry at it and still you wont achieve that perfect vision of pixel colour light and dark.
I now dont worry about wasting my watercolour paper or my journal pages and will end up with a better piece because i threw it away.
I wish these pieces of software for editing would just offer a little handbook as often we are left to our own devices without knowing how to proceed. Not knowing isnt a problem , its not being able to understand how far to take a cursor or tab to get the desired effect.
From what i can see and ive only just arrived at your pc stop is that you have a style all your own. I see a soft and gentle side to you and your imagery. I see fun, light, fantasy that you once loved as a boy and stories you know you want to write but putting it into words is more time consuming and - lets be honest none of us have any TIME.

I saw a scuff mark on a piece of furniture at work that looked to me like a waterfall.
That is where this came from, having never done one before I decided to try.
One day when I am bored I will probably try to improve it.
James Earl Jones/Darth Vader you a have great imagination.
Style, I try not to have one. On the rare occasions I show my work to people I prep them describing
it as weird/dark/fantasy and surreal.
Somewhat amusing when people see it and look at me as if I need counseling.
You nailed it in the last paragraph.

Ahh a piece of furniture scratched offers line, curve, rigidity, colour, patina and texture........WOW you really had a great idea there. To me everything that is not pretty or functional can be made into something else in my mind.
I love the idea that you tell everyone looking in what sort of picture it is.........when youve already added it, labelled it and maybe even grouped it. .....if we dont read your writings then its our fault if we misunderstand. Humans are so stupid like cattle they want leading every step of the way.

well, the reflection should be a little scattered, the water when bouncing on something makes a spray, not vapor.
Overall an excellent piece.

Thanks for the feedback, it is a fine line between spray and vapor.
Still learning things.
Thanks for the comment.

Sorry, i don't have much time and my english is quite poor.
This is a quick sketch.
Water has got a very strong surface tension.

I think, with more skill ( or maybe time ? ) , you could develop this piece to something truly - extraordinary .

I really like the water and the reflection in it. Nice work! One thing I could suggest (and this applies to all your paintings) is to work a bit more on the clouds. Check out this video , you might find it helpful. I don't know if you can upload brushes to Gimp, but if it's possible, you can also look for some on deviantArt. I myself use such brushes.

OH WOW!! O3O
this is really, really beautiful, i just love the effects in the stones/mountains and the reflection in the water is making it feel so real and i wanna go there...T_T
i like the grey colors you used in this drawing, this color scheme is one of my favourites. it never fails to bring the stormy and rainy effect that i love.
some of it needs blending and probably some shading but as you said this is your first attempt on drawing a scene like this, its epic.

Thanks, someone recommended I work more greyscale and focus more on values.
It is actually more enjoyable not having to worry about getting the colors right.
I like dark art anyway.

Thats a good recommendation.
Me too, i luv dark art which is why i appreciate this painting more.
i bet i can spot your work anywhere so easily now, you put a lot of effort in it and there is a part of you always in there that i can bet even if you didn't sign it, i could guess it. i truly love you art style.

Wow, that’s the nicest thing anyone has ever said. Thank you.
I have been seriously thinking of experimenting with a different style lately.
Still dark though.
