Description
I did a painted version of this X-Men #1 cover about 10-15 years ago.Β Its was one of the first digital paintings I had ever done, and I've always wanted to go back and revisit this image. I finally got around to it yesterday, and this is the result.ΒYou can check out the original painting here: Magneto
Of course the original cover was done by Jim Lee and Scott Williams.

I like the colouring itself, but i think you've taken out too much of the Lee+Williams style, there are no "sketchy", cross shading ink lines to be seen, so characteristic of their style (and 90's comics in general).
I'd be more than ok with it if this was a "redraw" of their cover, but you say it's meant to be colouring only.
Having said that, the colours still look amazing, and i absolutely love the small details, like the sparks, added eye detail and energy effects.
