My reaction was less sad and more I've-been-betrayed angry, especially after the non-fixed ending.
Okay, so it took me a while to have this realization.Β For those of you who already have, indulge me for a moment.
The crap ending we were dealt is why we have fanfics.Β I wrote my first in 9th grade English after reading Harrison Bergeron.
I'm in the process of writing one for the ME arc, starting just before the drop on Eden Prime in 2183.

The entire game was depressing. So many characters die. I mean, I know it is war, and I am sure they were trying to go for a 'realistic' type 'this is war people die' thing....but....it was just so unsatisfying. Probably because I got so attached to all the characters in the 1st 2 games....Damn video games and getting emotionally involved with them!

Basically my face throughout the entire game. Especially the ending... Oh that ending... I'll go back through eventually with tons more preparedness just so I can get Shepard and Anderson to live (and anyone else I can).

this is exactly the same i did as i finished the game some hours ago. my ending was... horrible? damn bioware!!!!

Yeah. The galaxy ends up getting screwed no matter what. There's one ending that hints Shepard might live, but that's not a lot of comfort when the relays have been blown to hell and the Normandy's stranded on god-only-knows what planet.

In the Destroy ending Shepard is alive, well, at the end of the cutscene there is another cutscene where there is a lot of rubble, then a body in an N7 armor with taggs (no face seen) and then the body suddenly gasps. So probably that's Shepard
