Background
Darth Ayako, born Miranda Thapal, was a Force-sensitive Renov female Sith Lady of the lineage of Darth Bane, who live during the High Republic area.

Miranda Thapal was born into a noble Thapal family. When she was three years old, she was noticed to be strong whit the force. Her parents planned to give her into the Jedi Order. However, Miranda's Uncle, Rospel Thapal, who was the Vortex Trade House shipping company's treasurer, was against it. In reality, Thapal was the Sith Lord Darth Arcon , who was looking for an apprentice, and his own relative was a good candidate. So he slain entire family and took his niece whit him and began to grow her.

At somepoint Arcon found the Zyggerian boy Rozo, who was also strong in force. Arcon took the boy under his wing and began training both children in the dark side of the Force. This was against the Sith Rule of Two, but Arcon had plans for both of them.

When Miranda and Rozo came of age, Arcon made them fight against each other. Using the skills they learned, they must defeat each other and the winner will officially become Darth Arcon's apprentice and Sith Lord. As the fight drew to a close, Rozo was victorious and it looked like he would become the Apprentice. But unexpectedly, Miranda, in her anger, drew on the dark side for strength and killed Rozo with her bare hands. Satisfied with the outcome, Arcon made her an apprentice and Sith Lady, naming her Darth Ayako.

Publicly, Ayako posed as a noblewoman and Thapal's niece, who had been taken in by her uncle after the tragic death of her parents. In reality, she acted as an agent and assassin for her master and uncle, who also commanded her uncle's highly trained mercenaries and treasure hunters, the Calan Raiders.

Years later, Arcon's secret connections to the anarchist Nihil marauders been revealed, but his Sith identity had not yet been revealed. Two Jedi Knights arrived with Renov's soldiers at his Nybak mansion to arrest him. Instead of running away, Arcon decided to confront the Jedi and ensure that the return of the Sith would remain a secret. He told Darth Ayako to flee and handed her his Sith holocron and the Sith Wayfinder, which would guide her to the hidden Sith world of the Unknown Regions, where she could hide and continue the Sith way and the Gran plan.

As Ayako headed to her ship, Arcon confronted the Jedi and soldiers in his office. There, he revealed his force sensitivity by first strangling two soldiers by force and then by taking out his lightsaber from its cane. In a fierce battle, he killed several soldiers and Jedi Knight Nana-Vuko before Jedi Knight Sofex managed to cut off both of his arms and one of his legs. Sofex was about to take him alive to Coruscant and expose the Sith, but then Ayako arrived on her ship and blast the entire office whit its weapons, killing Sofex, the remaining soldiers and her uncle. Thus the return of the Sith remained a secret and Ayako took Arcon's position as the Sith Master.

Ayako escaped using her master's Sith Wayfinder to the Unknown Regions, where she hid for several years until it was safe to return and took on her own apprentice, an Urgunian male she named to Darth Varako.
