Where do I even begin with this piece?
First off, I'd like to point out how original the concept is, of creating a monster that at first glance doesn't seem so scary but becomes more and more unnerving the longer you look at it. Now while there many pieces like this out there, I can only list a few that have this level of originality with them - I'm talking about how the "cat" is fused with the "woman's" "arm". Separate, they have the potential to be scary, but when uniquely put together in this manner, they take on a whole new level of frightening.
I also LOVE the feeling this piece creates, one of sadness and anxiety, of a woman or creature who has lived their entire lives in darkness with only a close companion/themselves to call a friend. Furthermore, while she has all the potential to be a voracious monster fully intent on executing some horrible act, there's also a sense that she doesn't want to do that at all . . . almost like she wants a friend.

This piece definitely unsettled me when i firs saw it. The rawness of the design and unappealing physique of the woman give off an ethos of unease that i can only assume was the intent due to the painstaking detail put into the lighting and gritty textures. Everything from the bruised skin to the grimy walls reminiscent of something out of silent hill. And of course, the image of the cat who appears to have melded to the woman. Technically, the art work shines with talent with the use of sub-surface scattering (which I have always been a fan of), effective rim lighting and deep moody shadows. The only issue in therms of the artwork that I can see speaking in technical terms is the fact that the end of the cats tail seems to lack texture. But that really is a nitpick. i love everything else about this, it is highly unique and there is honestly not much I can compare it to. I can only imagine what the story or meaning behind this is. The blood on the drain peaks my interest as to the backstory of this piece and although I don't know if I am even imaginative to come up with a story for such a bizzaro piece, I would love to see some interpretations by some other users

I'm not going to lie, this image gave me insta-chills when looking at it. When I first saw it on the main page (aka What's Hot), I was a bit confused as to what this image was supposed to be. But when I clicked on the image, it made my back and spine tighten it's that eerie and spooky.
I also can't help to take note that this image actually looks like something that would come out of a CreepyPasta. It also gives me this, I don't know, Silent Hill vibe?? It's really weird and hard to explain. Either way, I like how this came out for it gives off a super creepy horror feel and, for that, I applaud you!
And I can't help to bring up the... innocence I see in the lady's face. I feel that this image should be anything BUT sorrowful, yet it portrays such an immense about of said emotion. It's... upsetting. It makes you feel the pain and suffering she went through (whatever that may be). And the cat coming out of her arm gives off this overprotective and territorial vibe that it's giving off. It feels almost as if it, the cat, is like a PTSD aid to the elder lady and that if it sees its owner in danger or having an a episode that it'll do literally ANYTHING to snap her back into reality and ease the pain away.
All in all, I just adore how you incorporated SO MANY emotions into such a horrifyingly beautiful piece of art. And for this I, once again, applaud you for your hard work and marvelous masterpiece!

This very nice. I can easily tell where the different body parts fold, and where they bend. The character has all the right shading and lighting, and the eyes are beautiful on the cat. The setting fits the appearance of the character, and is beautifully drawn from imagination. The attention to detail is very nice, and the way the cat fits into the arm is so well illustrated. The picture looks as if it could have been actually photographed in real life, and has beautiful dimensions on every square inch of the canvas. I think you did a very nice job on this. Even though I'm absolutely terrified of scary things, I can't stop looking. You take my breath away with this picture.

This is utterly terrifying and I love it. The textures you used and the imagery itself draw you in, regardless of if you want to look at it or not. I'm very impressed. Truly, I've never seen anything like this. Incredible. This is going on my all-time favorites list. This is something truly original. It makes my skin crawl.
I get a serious sense of loneliness and desolation when I look at your creation. It's very visceral. Every time I look at this image I see something different. I feel that your trying to tell a story with this image and that is very deep. A story of desperation, darkness, and loneliness. It makes you stop and think. And the more I think the scarier it becomes. There is a certain depth to the amount of dread that I feel when I see this that cannot be expressed in words. My nightmares gave taken a physical form. The way this creature's skin has stretched and formed is grotesque and nightmarish. This reminds me of the stories of The Rake. It's human, but not. Calm but predatory. Can it see me with its awful eyes? I hope to never meet it's gaze, be it in the physical world or the dream world. "She" is truly terrifying.
And yet I pity her. She must have met an awful fate to become this. Or perhaps she has always been this way. Maybe this is who she is on the inside more than the outside. She truly is the physical embodiment of Isolation and fear. The Void.

This is one of those drawings that gets weirder has you look more at it, and I just love that xD That drawing gives a new meaning to "Your going to be be a lone old lady with cats. The first thing that I noticed was the cat looking into my soul. Only by looking, It creeps me out. Its original, for sure, and I would never though of a monster like this.
It really reminds me of Resident evil.
In general, its really good and I love it.

This is by far the most innovative and influential piece, to me personally, among all the entries for this contest. Though I do not at all fancy so horrific pictures of monsters, this one has something that grab my attention and lock my eyes.
The idea is what should be most admired. The creature's appearance is truly original. No needs of multitude of spikes or tiny crazy eyes, no needs of spooky jaws or terrifically long tongue, no needs fire breath or roar full of wrath. Just 'normal' body, and only one unusual feature.
This creature doesn't do anything, or 'she' doesn't HAVE to. 'Her' appearance is already more than enough to send a chill down the spike of any child, or even us, who may have grown out of childhood fears.
One more bonus for viewers is the emotion(s) shown by 'her' face and the atmosphere surrounding her. It's not mere horror. There is a faint trace of sadness, of nostalgia, of tiredness, and even, though most fade-away of all, believe it or not, a speck of friendliness.
Wish all who dare to stay and admire don't have to meet her in your nightmare tonight...

I love that I'm not the only person that sees the emotion put into this exquisite piece. I notice that I saw the friendliness more of an outlier, but now I see where it's coming from. The fact that she's protecting a cat that looks similar to her appearance, as if acknowledging the fact that others don't like them because of their skinny membranes and bare tails, shows to me friendliness.

And she sat there in agony for hours until she died.
