I made this to play around with some things in Marvelous Designer, as well as light panels within Vue for lighting. Draping these fabrics in MD took some coordinating and planning in stages. The bedding, pillows, and blankets were all made in MD. I textured them all in Vue. I rendered this as a higher setting to get rid of the graininess and smooth out the soft light and shadows -- but at a terrible render time price. It was a good learning experience all the way around.

The draping is awesome!! And the materials are very nice! I saw MD a few times now, but its too expensive right now... but i think for draping its the best tool? And good draping gives a huge "reality bonus"

Hey bud! Thank you very much! Yeah, MD3 is much more expensive now, as opposed to MD2. It's definitely the best tool in my opinion. It's a little tedious at times when it comes to clothing, but for draping simple fabrics, it's awesome!

Thanks again, bud! Daz has some new reality thing that's really been blowing my mind. But I've yet to try it. I used it quite a lot before I went back to Poser, so now I think I need to step back into it just to see. You have all the tools you need, bud! How's your modeling coming along? I've so absent lately from Facebook and need to check that group over there where we post WIPs and images.

Well, there's actually a plug-in render upgrade called Reality (actually Lux render engine) if that's what you're referring to... it really does amazing renders. I really should check that out, especially since I've owned it for a year or two. Heck, you don't need to check Facebook, just stop by my gallery! I guess I should, at some point, post it there too but yeah... my latest here involves a little road test for that Tachicoma (the robo spider tank) I was modeling.

Pensive... poofy.... and like someone else mentioned... 50 shades of grey... Who else but you, could pull it off!   Wonderful job Ryan, I really love the gravity of this little MD adventure you went on.   I would love to dunk around in MD although it would likely be futile, my patience levels have shifted and my latest has been in learning how to wire wrap, MD would break my brain.  LOL     Beautiful job my dear, I really love that lighting by the way.

Thank you very much! Ah, MD is Marvelous Designer -- it's a great 3d application for creating and draping fabrics and clothing for objects and models. Sorry, I get lazy in typing it out. I really appreciate your kind words, bud.

I already saw the Marvelous Designer somewhere on Youtube.. but I forgot the name of the software.. 
However. Looks great ! I try the fold simulator on Poser and.. yeah.. its bugged as hell! (You can't even cover a person who is lying on the bed without "mysterious" glitches)
And I didn't know that MD works with Vue and Poser. Wonderful hint!

My pleasure! I've seen people use the cloth tool in Poser with great results, but I've never used it -- I imagine it being a big pain in the butt, and yes, mysteriously glitchy. MD is very intuitive, although a little tricky stitching clothing patterns together (something I've never really done in real life, and MD simulates real patterns perfectly). But for simple draping of cloth, it's amazingly easy and so much fun. You can even apply wind effects which I love. It works perfectly with Poser, even has a setting for your Poser model size, and exports back out as an object file for easy import back into Poser or Vue or any other 3d application. The garment you create is static though, so you must have your model in its correct pose, but that's okay. The price for MD3 is a lot higher than MD2, but if it's something you would use often it's well worth the price. Should you happen to get it, I'd be glad to give you some tips and pointers to help you get started -- I'm by no means an expert, but there are some things to know initially or else you'll get frustrated.

No, this is Anthony Ward. His part of the story takes place nearly 300 years before Lt. Daniel (we'll get back to him later ). Lately I've been using Anthony often since he's prominent in a current story we're writing. I introduced him in this image:    And then returned to him in this one:

And he's in many, many more. He quickly became one of my favorite characters. Not that I look like him (I wish!), but he has my mind in the stories.

This is a fantastic image, and it was so much fun experimenting in MD! Pillows! I love the serenity and natural material, they look incredible real, I can feel the texture just by looking at it. You did a wonderful work with this image my friend And the smoothing levels and particle distance you have used would cause my computer to rent a sniper to take me out (and not to dance)

haha Thank you very much, Björn! Yes! It was so much fun when you and I played around in MD that day -- we were like tickled little kids! I just love the endless possibilities with the tools of the trade, as well as the infinite places we can go in our story. So glad to have you on this exploration!
