Planar Ronin?
I like the sound of that.
Intriguing concept.

Yeah. I was quite fond of it at the time. Unfortunately the game was a total party kill. We all died at the end, though it was pretty epic. I may use the concept again since that was only a oneshot.

So, were there any special rules for a Planar Ronin or did you just go with the flow and create the concept as you went along?

Hehe. No special rules, she was just a Samurai from the Oriental Adventures book. The rest was just backstory.

You never thought she... what? *Confused*
Oh, yeah, I think the costume is quite nifty too... I wanted it to be comfortable and flexible... sort of like armour that was more like clothes, which is why it is quite close to the body but covered in plates or pads. The actual shirt material seems to be pretty tough as well. She's a very mobile person when she needs to be though when she is not in action she is generally quite still and quiet... often eerily so... especially as she is rather hostile towards other people. Anyhow, I wanted her to be able to move around easily. She can run up walls and the like - she loves hgh places and will sit in a tree if at all possible, or at least some other elevated place.

^_^ Heehee, yep. Red on white is so nice and I've only really seen the combination on oni or japanese masks. The colour scheme was so important for this, I think... because I wanted it to have the feeling of one of those prints that is only black and white and red... I think that's such a dramatic combination... kind of like Geisha with the black hair, white skin and red lips. Also when I think of samurai as a concept I think the colours black, white and red are so appropriate for them. They are very strong minded and know according to their own code what is right and wrong - a very black and white perspective but not necessarily a bad one because it is toughed with honour. Then, of course, there is red for blood - an indication of a life spent walking the edge between life and death. Coincidentally, the name of her sword roughly translated to "Blood on the Snow".

Yes, I'm plaing dnd... have been since term started when all my friends finally got together and made a dream a reality. Gah, I love rpgs so much and dnd is such a classic - unfortunatelly I hail from the age of computer dnd (of which only Baldur's Gate 2 is truly impressive). It's so much cooler in real life because it's not as number based as it would be on computer, the plot is flexible, character driven and you can always wheedle your way out of a situation by thinking rather than forever resorting to hack and slash! I love dnd so much... and, like I said, it does great things for my creativity... because I make characters... and when I make characters I go all the way whether there's a need for it or not. I must do the complete visualisation thing... complete with drawing and knowing the character's history. One character probably has enough thought behind it to spawn a novel...

Ooooh... never? ^_^ Haha! I sooooo recommend it! Mind you, you do need other people to play it with and at least one person who is well-versed enough in the rules and number-crunching to be able to run the whole thing. A good dungeonmaster is so hard to find.
Until recently, even though I was getting back into dnd, I was only able to play text-based stuff on the internet but it was a little troublesome as practically everyone on there was american and so I had to play at crazy hours. Furthermore, quite often people would just not turn up or randomly drop out of a campaign. There's no obligation to be commited if it's the internet, I guess, whereas if you are playing in real life, chances are it's with friends and so it's easy to hook up and people feel more dedicated naturally by association... apart from the fact that in-person dnd is a hundred times of any other incarnation of the game.

I'm where I was last time. It's physically impossible for me to play as my big computer is broken and my lapton has insufficient resources to run Flyff comfortably. It's jumps and jams like crazy. If I were to fight like that I'd die before I even saw my health bar go down.

Hehe. Strange, I was just saying something like that to somebody else. Over the internet it's sometimes hard to remember that there are people on the other end of the text. I also guess that's why some people are incredibly rude to others over the internet - because they feel there's some kind of screen there separating them from reality. I must admit, in Flyff those guys who keep running up to me and just saying "buff please", do seem marginally like robots or some kind of popups specifically generated to annoy me.
Geh, I'm so close to my final job... it's so annoying that I can't play and just make up those extra few levels.

XD I'm glad I never have to deal with buffs. As a mage, I never really needed them. It's fun killing them so quickly they can't hurt you. ^^

Yes... I have a mage char too... it's fun. I love buffs, though. I can kill WAY higher level above myself than I ever was able to as a mage.

Yeah, Rhisis isn't too interesting. There is no city and no special areas and a small selection of monsters. I never liked it much at all. There is a mission from the collector, though, to the garden.
