I have to say, I am quite excited about this one. For one, it's a very close crop... I was literally holding the camera with both hands in front of my face. You might notice that I look kinda like an alien. This is because my camera has a bit of a wide angle. I did try to correct it to match a more normal perspective, but I'm not sure how well I succeeded. Nevertheless, aliens are quite cool, and for some reason I kind of like it when my photos don't look like me.

This one is called "Aftermath" for a reason (I hate it when people name their photos for no apparant reason!). Last night, my mom called me and for the first time I found myself actually arguing back at her. Sometimes I talk really loudly when I am trying to explain something to her, but this time I was yelling at her. Long story short, she didn't get it, and no matter how much I tried to explain it to her, she didn't budge. She even started repeating herself.

At one point I started crying. (If you're wondering, we were arguing about when to reapply for medical school.) Buuut she still didn't get it, and still doesn't get it. I could tell that she was sad and worried when she heard me crying, but tears don't exactly sway my mother when she thinks she's right. In fact, she said right up front that she was glad that I'm learning these lessons now. Way to comfort your sobbing child, eh? This just shows you the type of family that I grew up in. We're great with having a laugh, but when it comes to the darker emotions we kind of blank on what to do or say.

Anyway, several hours after I cry, my eyelids get puffy. My eyelids normally have one crease that's hidden by my lashes, but when my lids get puffy the crease becomes more obvious. I basically get the "ideal" Asian eyes after I've spend a night crying. Nature really loves me. So behold, me in all my misery.
