Beautiful. Much sleeker than most other designs I've seen. Is this the same design as the one in your short YouTube animation? It's kinda hard to tell from the angle in the video.

Yes, this is what it evolved into. I changed a lot of it to be more inline with the Matt Jeffries design.

Is there a newer version?
Also I'm on the hunt for one other Enterprise model, and I was hoping you might be able to give me some direction.

I hope I can find a downloadable version of that one as well.

This is it. It took months to make. I'd like to make a higher rez version with better texture maps, but there's not enough time for all the things I'd like to do.
I don't think I've seen the other Connie before. You could try asking on scifi-meshes.com.

Nice! Giving it a new look while still keeping the classic feel.. unlike some others... (*cough cough* JJ-Prise. *cough)
The exterior (design-wise...) looks like it belongs in the 28th to 29th Century.

Yeah, I think TOS should look like the future of the sixties, TNG should look like the future of the eighties, and the future of now should be set somewhere after TNG.

Just seen this featured on Trekyards YT channel and have to say it's totally awesome and I love it!
I'm not liking the nacelle caps too much and I agree with Cpt. F. and Cmdr. C. about the proportions of the rear engineering hull as being a bit too sleek. Really love the forward angle on the nacelle pylons, though. The only other thing I personally might change is the angle of the forward rim of the neck, it looks somewhat off, even if I can't point my finger on it exactly.
Wow, a lot of criticism for a ship design I just called awesome. What I mean: All the angled views of it are beyond gorgeous and she looks magnitudes better than that "thing" Abrams had in his movies. This shows very clearly how much better it could have been done.
Despite my criticism, which is only minor nitpicking and personal taste really, this is among the very best Enterprise designs I have come across. So a an equally sincere and big thumbs up.

Wow, that was unexpected, I had no idea Trekyards was going to cover it. I mean, I pointed it out to them but they didn't say they were going to make a video on it. Thanks for the heads up!
I've been surprised at how good the response to this design has been. I expected it would either be widely rejected, or ignored. This is the best response I've gotten to anything I've done, and I'm at least halfway through my art career.
Some of the features may grow on people with time, as they become used to seeing the Enterprise this way. The angles on the neck, especially the front angle, were very hard to get even close to right. Yes, it is a little off, but it's the price that had to be paid to get the swept forward warp pylons. As much as possible, the angles of the warp pylons and the neck need to look like they radiate from the same point, and they need to look that way from every angle, otherwise there's an unpleasant clash. So yeah, that area isn't totally right but it lets the warp pylons and nacelles do their thing, which solves the biggest problem with the Jefferies' Connie.

I love this, with one caveat. First, having the struts sweet forward is genius! Your attention to detail is amazing as well. My only prob is the Bussard Collectors...they remind me of medical illustrations of the female breast. I find them off-putting...and yet intriguing simultaneously. Still, this is one of the best re-imaginings of the TOS Enterprise yet!

Mmmm, titties . . . Well all that stuff is supposed to rotate around and have a layer of gases flowing in and breaking up the pattern, so maybe it won't be such a problem in motion.

Looking at the thumbnail for this episode of Trekyards (youtu.be/Bhrsotr4Az0 ), I tend to agree. The STD Connie is too squat to be elegant.

This actually has a 1960s 'feel' to its aesthetic. Very wonderful! I Like it better than J.J.prise "Alpha". Better than the J.J. 1701 too!

Yes, THAT is exactly what it reminds of, I could not think of the proper term for it... The Jet Age type of aesthetic from the early 1960s.

I just came to the page on deviantart, and it already looks good. I don't really get all this Blender junk, but I bet it would be a gazillion times better in that than here, because it's some sort of 3D model program, or whatever.

Great job. That particular viewing angle some evokes the old Excelsior-era fandom Solaris for me, even though it's newer and has more curves ... and I always liked that design.
Keep up the good work!

It's one of the shots from the TOS opening.
I'm hoping other Trek artists will use this ship too - I want to make more ships more than I want to make backgrounds.
