Netflix has never called these guys the Defenders,these guys are the new Avengers.
Hulk, Doctor Strange, Namor, Silver Surfer and Valkyrie will always be the defenders.

Sorry to say but at least for me the Defenders are the classic team formed by: Doctor Strange, Namor the Sub-Mariner, Hulk (or in his absence Skaar the Son of Hulk), Silver Surfer, Valkyrie, Gargoyle, Hellcat, Nighthawk and Son of Satan.

I know ! I noticed this detail in the artwork. But if I may say the Defenders in the past has been a super team capable of facing even the Avengers. Who does not remember the classic story "Avengers vs Defenders" www.universomarvel.com/fichas/β¦ . These comics are among the great classics of Marvel. It is really lamentable that the Defenders have never been able to sustain a single regular comics title. Doctor Strange, Hulk, Namor the Sub-Mariner, Silver Surfer, Valkyrie are some of the more powerful superheroes, of Marvel Comics. Together whom would win?
