As an introduction to the return of "Halo Infinite" 😃 I will be publishing the list of the alien "Races" 👽 that were part of the Pact in the original saga in summary form:
* Race: Sangheili
* Nickname: "Elites"
* Species: Saurian (Reptilians)
* Planet of Origin: "Sanghelios" (rocky world with large sanctuaries and technological industries)
* Average Height: 2.23 to 2.59m
* Technological level: Native Level 2 (interstellar travel) being the second founding race of the Covenant the "Sangheili" (Elites) offered their military forces in the service of the prophets "San 'Shyuum" their new teachers blessed by the galactic gods.
* Affiliation: Covenant (commanders, squad leaders, war advisers, and honor guards)
* Background: "The Great Schism" or Covenant civil war was an internal conflict between the Covenant species caused by a replacement of functions that degraded the rank of the "Elites" to promote the number of Brutes (Jiralhanae) troops as a new escort of the prophets; However, the Political and Religious tension increased their rivalry when the favored "Brutes" began their genocidal persecution against the entire guard of "Elites", the few who managed to survive questioned their millennial faith and vowed to take revenge on those who betrayed them.
* Current Status: The "Sangheili" are fragmented by Political and Religious discussions as a consequence of the post-Civil Covenant war, some few factions are still faithful to the pact, others opted for "exile" to seek a new cause but the most influential section in restoring the welfare of their civilization are "the Swords of Sanghelios" led by the arbiter "Thel 'Vadam".
