I'm not sure if it's in World. I know it's in MH4U as a "relic". It's designed from a monster called Ceadeus.

i remember ceadeus from tri (loved the fight too, i just liked the underwater combat >.>) i know it had a greatsword that looked like it was wrapped in chains, this almost looks like a beam sword

Yeah lol you can kinda get beam swords in MH4U.
Here's a detailed answer: In MH4U, there's a special quest system called Guild Quests that have 1 or 2 monsters in it. Each time you beat the quest, it levels up (max at 140) and the monsters in the quest get harder to fight. And you get special armor and weapons called Relics. The Relic weapons use existing weapon designs, but they can come in different colors and can glow. Which armor and weapon designs you get depends on the level and the monster of your Guild Quest.
So you can get a purple, glowing Relic Ceadeus greatsword from doing a certain Guild Quest in MH4U!
Yeah, technically Tri was my first monster hunter game, but I never got past capturing the Great Jaggi lol

I've played freedom unite through world, all solo quests most guild, 4u I didn't get into cause that was when I heard world was coming out and I beat only the 4 flagship monsters
