Another of my recent commissions. My friend whom plays Salamanders wanted me to paint Xavier, who is an old out of print model. I had a lot of fun painting this model as well, especially the hammer. Typically I paint hammers as, well, thunder hammers. However in this particular case I attempted to make the hammer look more stone-like and I am very happy with the result.Related content

For or from? If the answer is 'for' that is because Xavier is an existing model that is out of print. If you mean 'from' that is because this was commission work and I am a poor college student lol ^_^;; But I'd love to paint those.

It "was" an actual GW model back in the day, it is discontinued. It ran about $55 usd on eBay, still in the original GW packaging.

What kind of light source do you use to take pictures? I'm just curious, it lights up your minis well. I use an Ott light and a self made light box.

These were taken outside, I edit them with photoshop to help correct some of the light issues I have. Outside is the best option I have, I really should make a light box -.-;

An Ott light (brand) is just a light that's supposed to simulate real sunlight, it actually is a really great light for my desk!

It was painted to fit in with the rest of his army. That and his helmet really didn't look like a skull helmet that we see on the newer chaplain models.
