When I was a teenager I remember my late mother talked about a robin that used to frequently come into our garden, and she loved him. One day I came home and found out that our cat, Girl, had managed to catch him and left his body in the garden. My mum was devastated, and she felt so strongly about the robins death that she spoke about rehoming the cat because of it. Everyone, except me, hated Girl, and this didn't help her gain favour.
