Well to be exact, the characters were manipulated first then re-vectored
I normally use Rukia and Ichigo's head from Bleach scans I find, then put those heads in a body I find appropriate. But if I can't find one to my liking, I'd have to draw it and color it myself; like Rukia's dress for this wall. Everything else, (eg. the background) was done by brushes
