klassic kitana is in the mk11 game files, ready to go! why we don't have access to her yet, i have no clue, but here's her model for you to enjoy. she's an almost-entirely direct game file port, with hand-colored textures that match the leaked thumbnail images (shout out to mortal kombat warehouse). NRS devs, if you're reading this: i made a render of her a whole month ago, and i waited til now to release her, in the vain hope that it'd be officially revealed before now. get it together! we want these outfits! c'mon dudes

-IMPORTANT. you can use this model for whatever artwork you'd like! with one exception: no publicly posted porn. out of respect for the work of the mk11 devs, and my work in making it, please just don't. note: this specifies 'publicly posted', i obviously can't control what you do in private, but please use discretion. ship art is fine but absolutely nothing gross (no incest, rape, underage, etc). basically, just use your sense of taste and good sense
-if you want to use parts of this model in another project, please ask me first! that includes the functional rigged face. i'll probably agree (as long as you're honest about what you're doing) but pls do me the favor of asking
-please tag me in any art you make with this one! i can't wait to see the mk11 models in action

detailed info (kitana-specific):
-her outfit is a direct port of the game! i recolored her leotard, gloves, boots, and headband to various correct shades of blue, picking the colors from that leaked image. her skin tone on her arms and legs is also appropriately matched to her face
-the face is based on a port of kitana's human models by sticklove (link/credit above), but she has my complex face posing structure installed, as well as a custom mouth texture on the teeth and tongue, and some edits to the eyes for better reflections in my usual style
-the shine/specular effects on her body and outfit are custom-made, trying to match the official look as best i could. the detail/normal maps are also edited for a more vibrant and
realistic look in the relatively simple xps render engine
-her hair and the back ribbons on her outfit have the original bone names, due to the difficulty of hand-renaming all the armature posing points. they still work correctly, as they should
-i did not rescale her hands or feet. as a result, the hands are a little too big and feet are a little too small (idk, mk11 is like that). but i figured since she's a game-accurate port, i'd best leave it alone
-she has a new pelvis posing point. however, because of the leotard outfit and thigh structure, the pelvis bone is simply her thigh bones connected to a central point; she does not have a separate pelvis area, to avoid weird waist-bending issues

mk11 model port info, where relevant (all models):
-this model is ready to go, with a full set of bones renamed to match the standard XPS posing structure. the MK11 t-pose is a little different from MKX, be aware of that - it takes practice to figure out how to use the hands! the characters are scaled to match the MKX model heights, so feel free to use them in scenes together with other game characters!
-the models are optimized and poly-reduced to work better on less powerful computers. as a result, they're not exact copies of the game versions, but you can use several of them in one scene without straining your processor! i've received a lot of requests for easy-to-use optimized models, so that's how i'm doing them
-my mk11 ports have my custom simplified expression posing structure & a fully re-rigged posable head, correcting all the glitches in the model export by hand with weight painting (note: not applicable on kitana, her face was already repaired). this adds bonus features like mouth corner controls, main eyebrow, cheek, and nose adjustment points, and a jaw hinge, which was missing for some reason. this character's face will work as well, or better than, the other models in my lineup! advanced mocap rigged faces are hard to work with, but you'll find this one much easier, i hope
-the diffuse textures are edited and repainted to match this character's in-game appearance, usually based on their promotional render. it's the same process i use to make my own custom models. the specular maps are made new, and normal maps are ported from the game whenever possible & and made new when i can't find them
-mk11 armatures include four spine posing points and three neck posing points (unlike mkx, which had 4 and 2 respectively). these are spine lower/middle a/middle b/upper and neck lower/middle/upper. the faces are more complex than mkx, too, but they have the same set of overall simplified expression controls, as noted above
-gear items can be shown or hidden via the optional items menu (not appliable for klassic kitana)
-preview pose included as [charactername]preview.pose

That's really cool! I like it when you give the current MK models their classic outfits with some extra things (like different hairstyles and removable masks) here and there.

It does look nice and nice to have a model where her hair is down. Kind of strange that they had her hair down in MK9 and MKX(at least for some of her outfits in MKX), but not in MK11.

that's a good point, although her mk9 hair looked kind of terrible haha. I think this is a pretty good compromise, it's nicely styled and it's a reasonable length. i wonder if anybody will mod it onto other outfits

True. True. It would be cool to see how the MK characters, besides Johnny since his outfits are pretty similar, look like in their MK9 outfits.
